Printhead Frames for Mimaki UJF7151, Roland LEF2 | CNC Aluminum

CNC-machined aluminum mounting frames, carriages and high-precision flex cables for Mimaki UJF-7151, Roland LEF2 and major industrial ink-jet print-heads—OEM-compatible, global shipping.

Print-head mounting frames, carriage assemblies and electrical interfaces form the mechanical and signal backbone of industrial ink-jet systems. They ensure precise nozzle alignment, stable motion, and reliable data/power transmission—directly affecting print accuracy, banding, and long-term reliability.

These components are commonly replaced during print-head upgrades, multi-head installations, or after mechanical impacts. Compatibility is determined by print-head model, printer series, and electrical interface standard — not by brand alone.

Verification Tip: Always check the label on your print-head (e.g. “DX7-01”, “MH5420-UV”) before ordering frames or cables.

Supported Printer Brands and Series

Here are representative printer lines frequently serviced. Compatibility of frames, carriages and cables must always trace back to the actual print-head installed.

Brand / Representative Series:

  • Mimaki: UJF-3042, UJF-7151plus, JV33, CJV30
  • Roland: LEF2-200/300, VG3-540/640, VS-640
  • Mutoh: ValueJet 1638UH, XpertJet 1682UR, RJ-900

These models cover the majority of solvent, UV, and eco-solvent flatbed and roll-to-roll systems in the global service market.

Printhead Mounting Frames – Precision Alignment

The mounting frame holds the print-head in exact position relative to the media plane. Even a 0.1 mm tilt or offset can cause visible banding or double imaging.

*Compatibility refers to printers that have been identified in the field with the given print-head platforms. Always confirm your specific machine’s print-head model.

Notes:

  • The flatness tolerance ±0.02 mm for aluminum alloy frames is a typical specification provided by aftermarket frame manufacturers—please verify with your supplier.
  • The spacing 54–69 mm per head for array frames is a typical range used in many 2-head/4-head setups; confirm exact spacing for your equipment.
  • For example: The Konica Minolta KM1024i specification confirms a print width of 72 mm.
  • The Ricoh MH5420 GEN5 print-head is specified as having 1,280 nozzles (4 × 320).

Carriage Assemblies – Motion Stability

The carriage assembly carries one or more print-heads, dampers, and cables across the print width. Smooth, vibration-free motion is critical—especially in high-speed industrial printers.

Key characteristics:

  • Guide system: linear rails or hardened rods with polymer sliders
  • Drive mechanism: timing belt with tensioner pulley
  • Encoder integration: optical scale for real-time positional feedback (in some models such as VG, UJF, XpertJet)
  • Common failure mechanism: worn guides or sliders → carriage wobble → horizontal banding

In many service scenarios (e.g., for Roland LEF2 or Mimaki UJF series), carriage assemblies are replaced as a full unit, because encoder brackets and cable-routing channels are integrated.

Electrical Interfaces – Signal Integrity

Electrical interfaces transmit print-head firing waveforms, temperature feedback, and print-head identification data. Mismatched or damaged interfaces are a leading cause of intermittent jetting or printing errors like “print-head not recognized”.

Important: Pin count and connector type are defined by the print-head manufacturer, not necessarily by the printer brand.

Critical Notes:

  • The DX5 31-pin vs DX7 35-pin cables are not interchangeable.
  • The Ricoh MH5420 implementation generally uses dual cables (main + auxiliary) – missing the auxiliary cable disables functions (wiper/temperature) in many setups.
  • Konica KM1024i uses a ZIF socket – always lift the latch before inserting/removing the cable.
  • Kyocera KJ4B-QA in high-speed mode requires the 80-pin cable with correct impedance; using a 51-pin cable will limit frequency/performance.
