Epson TX800 Printhead Description
The Epson TX800 is a fixed-array piezoelectric printhead commonly used in mid-range digital printing systems. It supports up to six ink channels, typically configured for CMYK with two additional channels for white, varnish, or specialty inks. Designed as a cost-effective alternative to older Epson models like DX5 and DX7—both of which have been discontinued and subject to firmware restrictions—the TX800 is widely adopted in UV flatbed, textile, and sign printers.
Due to its narrow internal ink channels, the printhead has reduced ink flow capacity compared to larger industrial heads, which may affect performance at high print speeds or under unstable ink supply conditions. When using UV inks on reflective substrates such as glass, proper shielding is required to prevent UV light reflection from damaging the printhead.
