Kyocera KJ4B-QA06NTB Printhead Description

The Kyocera KJ4B-QA06NTB is a next-generation piezoelectric printhead engineered specifically for high-speed printing using water-based inks, including aqueous, pigment-based, and specialized formulations such as MICR ink. With a maximum drive frequency of 30 kHz and a 5 pl droplet volume, it delivers sharp, consistent output at line speeds up to 76.2 m/min, making it ideal for high-throughput environments.

This single-color printhead features 2,656 nozzles arranged across a 108.25 mm wide print swath with a 0.042 mm nozzle pitch, enabling high-density printing at 600 × 600 dpi. The design supports both single-pass (e.g., transactional printing) and multi-pass (e.g., textile printing) workflows, offering flexibility across diverse industrial applications.


Key engineering enhancements include:

Internal ink filters to prevent clogging from particulates

Integrated heater to stabilize ink viscosity under varying ambient temperatures

Optimized ink channel geometry for stable flow and reduced pressure fluctuations
